In the second art exchange of the QWAS project, six students from the Zurich University of the Arts and five members of the School of Artistic Gesture went together on a train journey from Zurich to Almaty via Berlin, Warsaw, Kiev, Moscow and Astana. On their journey, they directed their special artist / painter gaze to topics such as nomadism, urban development, local characteristics, distance, gender, post-Soviet space, expression of selfie culture, etc.

Participants combined their experiences into kaleidoscopic works of art - as varied as their personal backgrounds. Having started as individuals in Zurich, they arrived in Almaty as a group, and each work was a component of a common history.
